They also give the excuse of 1000 off book because of fairings? I guess it will be sold to another street fighter.

Sounds a little fishy...

Of course it's been damaged - that's why it's wearing those fairings instead of the originals.
Why does this necessarily mean fishy? As long as it's been repaired correctly what does it matter? How many bikes do we already own that have been damaged and repaired - some numerous times?
Answer: Lots.
And the older they get the more likely they will be to have suffered some sort of damage in their lives.
P.S. Moved to IB as per forum rules - not OP's ebay listing.

.
The fact that they have not directly mentioned that it is crashed and repaired is the fishy part. To me it indicates that is has not been repaired properly and they are hoping that some poor schmuk will buy it without looking too closely at the tracking.

I suspect accident damaged also.... but as long as nothing is wrong and it's been repaired what does it matter?

Well that's a massive assumption on your behalf. Whilst they could have mentioned it in the ad, I'd be more concerned if they didn't fully explain the history when viewed.

Is there a possibility that they don't know the full story either?
Maybe they know it looks fishy, so that's why they've explained they've done all the tests and stuff on it?
Could be wrong, like.

What's the bother? With these poncy tupperware bikes you've barely got to fall over at a standstill to knack the plastics.
And if you buy one you're only going to ride it like a tool and park it in a hedge or gravel trap anyway. And if you're not going to do that then you shouldn't be buying one.

Yeah, I am not saying it DEFINITELY is dodgy to ride, but the aftermarket fairings and no explanation in the ad would put me on my toes. Was looking at a car a few years ago, and just looking through the onboard computer I recon there could have been £1500 quids worth of work needed. I told em this they wouldn't drop the price accordingly saying that someone will come along who doesn't check.

agreed, huge assumption. might just be their book price they are going on, or they might have not been able to shift it for a while and just want to get rid of dead stock... i am sure if questioned they will tell you, I don't believe that unless it has been recorded in a HPI check they are obliged to tell you even if they have been told verbally... someone feel free to correct me on that.
