Here for sale is my trusty Suzuki SV 650 S, registered in 2006 (SK6 model). I tracked this one down locally after riding my brother's SV and being very impressed. I'm only selling it after the purchase of a bike I've wanted for a long time - the Triumph Street Triple.

As most of you know a little about the SV650 (!), then you will know they are great first big bikes. They are also known for being great bikes for ladies, and blokes of the shorter stature! This example is even better in this regard, as the rear suspension has been lowered professionally with new suspension link 'dog bones'. I have the originals if the new owner wants them. This will make a great commuter bike, or something fun for the weekend.

The second change to this bike is to improve comfort, by a high Renthal bar conversion. This has been done properly by extending the clutch/throttle cables, and fitting braided brake lines to the front calipers. This transforms the feel of the bike. Far less weight on the wrists, and the more upright position makes the bike feel like a little terrier! I have fitted some good quality bar mounted mirrors, as the more upright seating position gives you a view of your arms in the standard fairing mirrors!

As it weighs in at about 170kg, its easy to move around, and handles brilliantly.

Now to the condition. I would say its excellent. Its been looked after very well, and the paintwork is very good. It has a couple of touched-in scratches on the tank, but overall I think its in better condition than some newer machines I've had. The frame is unmarked, and the engine and ancillaries are very clean. I've taken a couple of close up photos to show this. I've given the bike a good going over with ACF-50 to keep it looking good, and keep corrosion at bay. Both wheels are in very good order.

Mechanically, the bike has been looked after with a good service record. I have just changed the oil with Suzuki recommended Motul 10w-40 semi, and a Suzuki oil filter. It has also just had a DID X-Ring chain, and new sprockets fitted. Two Continental Road Attack tyres were fitted less than 500 miles ago. Also, new brake pads all round. This bike doesn't need anything service-wise for quite a while! The engine pulls brilliantly, and burns no oil. I'm getting on average 60mpg commuting to/from work.

The bike is has a professionally fitted Datatool S3 alarm, with all documentation supplied.

Style wise, the bike has had a rear hugger, new custom seat covers and a tail tidy fitted with LED indicators. It also has a slip-on Scorpion Exhaust.

The bike comes with owners manual, service book, MOT paperwork, V5 and some receipts for the bike.

Don't let the 40,000 miles put you off - this bike has been looked after, and these V-twins go on for 100k+ if looked after. The bike is priced accordingly, lower miles 2006 bikes go for £2000+.

NOTE: The last picture shows the bike with the handle-bar mounted mirrors which I fitted recently. The rest were taken a couple of months ago.

Two beasty machines side by side! If only! Im half toying with taking this off your hands..... Did you ever state the bar mod to your insurance? Did it affect it much?

Yup, everything stated. As long as its a mod that doesn't improve performance , MCE said that it didn't affect the premium. They just said cosmetic mods would not be covered (ie they cover the bike as standard).
