I can believe it, so many unwanted pet fish deposited into rivers etc because their owners didn't want them anymore, or washed out from garden ponds into adjacent rivers during floods.

There's loads of humungous goldfish in rivers that escaped from ponds into rivers.

Thankfully not with teeth like that!
