Good morning, this is my first post and first time I've ever been a member of a forum and so I hope I am doing this correctly and abiding by sv etiquette.
Having first been mistaken for a bot by admin ( a strange username? which happens to be the main team of bitmap brothers amiga 500 classic speedball2.... oh what a game!) and my registration withheld I am now a member of your fantastic forum...... Get in there!
So, I passed my unrestricted motorcycle licence last December and 2 weeks ago acquired my first bike, a red sv650s 2000 model, I've been hunting one down for a while and came across what I think is a beauty, 17,000 miles, ful service history, new Michelin road pilots, fuel titanium exhaust, nitron shock, hel brake lines, and cosmetically original, pretty much the package I was after...... "How much did you pay?" I hear you ask. I believe and have been told it was a bargain at £1650..... One sv 650 for one six fifty.
Needless to say I am smitten with her. Thankyou for reading and ill hopefully be posting more and getting involved, I certainly feel part of something...... Here she is..............

Welcome dude! Two things ...
Speed Ball 2 ... EPIC! Them were the days. Hospitalising armour clad ball tossers was a religion back in the day.
Secondly, the trolling comment ... you paid top whack for that curvy. £1200-£1400 sounds like a more realistic price. However, it really doesn't matter, so long as you're happy with it, and if it gives you problem free riding, then that extra nibble on top makes no odds in my book. :)
welcome to the madhouse. looks a cracking bike with some nice bling bits. £1650 i think is a fair price considering the bling. now get out and do some miles :-)

Hey fellas, thanks for the warm welcome. Just awoke from my slumber and the rain is ****tin it down, don't think I'll be riding her in tonight.... Not thati plan on being an all out fair weather rider but yeeehheeaaash it's bad and why take the unnecessary risk??
Well, trouble free riding...... Had to replace front brake lever switch today, mechanism just wasn't free and that little plunger wouldn't pop out, got it working by prizing the top of the switch and working contact fluid in the mech, just seemed like the top plate on switch was foulin the mech. Anyhow new switch came today, for the price of a new one its gotta be done.
Does anybody know of any GOOD leather repair gaffs? Need a new front zip replacing, or would I be better starting a new thread?
Thanks again for the welcome!

Search as I recall someone asking before, then start a new thread if you can't find it. Your post comes out as 7 lines on my screen. Only 8% of the people here can be bothered to read beyond 3. :D

Hey citizen, atassiedevil, cheers.
Neighbour asked me if I fancied a ride out to Harley Davidson dealership. Did so. He has a stunning electraglide and BMW 1200s, followed him up and had a cool ride, he took his BMW, happy the rain held off. What a cracking dealership though. Hogs have never been my thing but a mATT black v rod caught my eye..... One day maybe. There were plenty of people just pulling in on there bikes for a chat and a coffee, a sense of real commaradery. That,I am finding is a real cool thing about owning a bike...... Just gotta find a bunch off sv's......

Hi and welcome
You don't want a outdated tech harley! Do yourself a favour and check out a rocket 3 roadster next time you can get to a triumph dealership, good alternative to the v rod.....running mine in at the mo and its insane :-)

You're right Kai, I don't. Like I said never really been into hogs, rocket 3 really doesn't do anything for me. The vrod was aesthetically pleasing, and yeah if I had lots of disposable income I probably would have one. So what is it that possessed you to buy a rocket 3 man? Do you own any other bikes?

I have an SM-T too, my daily driver / commuter / twisty fun bike.
I wanted a torque monster to take the wife touring with and to chill out on sunny days rather than ragging it everywhere as the SMT seems to encourage. I tried a Victory Hammer S, a Thunderbird sport and the roadster, All were nice for what they are but the roadster just made me giggle so much with it's acceleration and general pull at any revs...now I have to try and chill out on it...that's the hard part when it makes such a nice growl if going for it! Definitely a bike to demo ride to fully understand!

Nice, the ktms look so nice, is it th 690? Having only just started in biking I can't fully appreciate having a bike for different situations but it must be nice to be able to have the option of what to ride. Oh I bet she does sound beautiful with the hammer down, how long until she's fully run in?

1000cc v-twin, with some loud cans :-) Same LC8 engine as the 990 Superduke and 990 adventure. I managed to keep it thanks to some 0% Apr on the new bike and because trade in was rubbish anyway...I was surprised the wife accepted it, I think she has a game plan :-)

Nothing else like a 3 cylinder 2.3litre engine's sound. First service booked for next Saturday, another 40 miles to cover for it ideally, got 400 miles on all yesterday and this morning before the weather went t1ts up...
Anyway, enough about me, you managed to get out on your bike some more? Braved the rain yet?

Hey Kai, well your bike must be run in by now? 2.3 litre.....mega.....
The rain has caught me out a few times, it's hit me that it's good for the confidence. Came home on a nice road from work today. Banbury, through bloxham then on A44 through chipping norton, moreton and marsh, stow on the wold then back to evesham, fast road. So yeah, I'm really enjoying the sv, though in old wet weather gear as my leathers need repairing, just trying to find the best local to me.
Weather is looking sweet for the weekend!

Yep, weather is looking great....a few more miles on Saturday and the first service will be out of the way, then I'll be meeting up with some from here on Sunday and can start seeing what the bike can do higher up the rev range ;) I'll still be captain slow on the corners though, I don't want ot push it yet, there's not as much room for correction with the Rocket, too big and heavy!
There's nothing like the first time the rear end of your bike slips out on you going round a corner in the wet and oil/diesel...makes you feel alive...had it happen a couple of weeks back on the SM-T heading home and got really out of shape for a few seconds...proper tank slapper! I've taken it a little easier in the wet since ;) Angel GT tyres are not quite as good as Mich PR3's in the wet that's for sure!!

Noticed you were in Evesham, dunno if you've seen this or not but as a former Mazzers regular I found it funny.
PS, first rule of the org, don't post Hitler videos

Ha, nice one Lenny, don't have flash player on the pad but seeing your P.S I can only assume its the rant over the bridge closure? If so yeah I watched it a week or so ago and laughed a lot! Pretty well written, it did make me laugh when the polish townsfolk were asked to leave the room. OOoOO mazzers! Surprised you're not still stuck to the floor!
I read a thread on fish hill yesterday, think you may have posted there. Came down it yesterday, first time.... I didn't realise there was such stigma attached to it with bikers.
Yes that's the one. Going up Fish Hill is more fun than coming down. Apart from when I used to visit my girlfriend when I was 16 who lived in Broadway and I had to ride up it on a 50cc TSX in first gear :D

As special one said, keep an eye on the Midlands section, I mean no-one ever posts in there but have a look anyway :)
