So what's the verdict on these caliper pistons, fit for use or it or the scrap bucket?

Some pitting on each of them (the black bits).

They're from Tokico 6 pot calipers.

Looks like they have an excellent chance of leaking.
Corrosion and pits won't matter if they are all outboard of the seal, (with new pads installed).
Yours look pitted pretty far down. I wouldn't use them, I'd rather put them together knowing they won't leak and will last for a long time.

if the pitting is touching the main fluid seal when installed then bin them.

personally for safety sake (i like my brakes) i would bin and get new ones. yes its a lot of mullah but what's your life worth?

Like Wideguy says, check where the pitting is viz position of seal when fitted and pumped up - they may be fine.
If the pitting is too far down the brakes will work OK, but will weep fluid which is a damn fine paint stripper, as I'm sure you know.

Smear some glue on them and they'll be fine.

its possible to get them machined down, then plated, but thats probably going to cost as much as new parts. As has been said, make sure the pitting doesn't touch the seals with it all reassembled, if it does...bin them and buy new.

I've not seen an SV caliper for a while but they look fine!

As others have said, drop one into a caliper and see what level the seal groove is at.

Oops, just read your post properly, I have 6 pot Tokico calipers, the damage to yours looks similar to that on mine and I've had no problems.
