Gladius gearbox noise?

Hey guys. Been a few years since I was last here. Glad to see my old log in still works. Woop.
Well after selling my ild 02 streetfightered sv.....then having a tl1000s for 4 years....then nit being on a bike for another 4 years im now back on a k3 naked black sv650.
First ride out last night with my other half on her gladius was awesome.

But......

There appears to be a pulsating whine in 3rd gear!?

Any ideas guys? Is it terminal? Normal? Easy fix? Hope ive not bought a lemon. Everything ele about it is fine.

Good to have you back, you'll need to update your signature ;)

I'd investigate chain & sprocket tension, lubrication, and condition as a first point of call. If not, I'd pay very specific attention to whether it was varying with engine speed, road speed, whether it was louder under acceleration, constant throttle or brakes and report back.

its only 3rd gear...and speeds up with acceleration. gets louder with acceleration but is still there quietly when not under load.
chain and sprockets are new and tension seems fine.
no other nasty tendancies other that the noise.

Just rode it again.....its more of a tucking clicking noise
