Hi, yesterday when I got off my bike as always I put the steering lock on..... But sent it round to parking light without realising and when I came to climb aboard today the battery was obviously flat as a pancake, recharged battery, reconnected and now oil pressure light won't come on for test when ignition is turned. Could it simply be a duff bulb? Just seems coincidental as diconnected battery. Any help much appreciated. ATB

And that the reg/rec was duff and needed to be replaced with a CBR unit :)

Not meaning to be pedantic, but this isn't exclusively 'an SV forum', and this isn't the SV section - this is Bike Talk. Had this thread been in the SV Talk section that would give us a head start, but all the same knowing exactly which bike is being discussed is a definite bonus when discussing any technical question.
Back to your bike: What model of SV is it? This isn't being pedantic - the differing models have completely different instruments, thus the fault - if there is one - could be entirely dependant on what exact bike you've got.

It's a red 2000 SV650S with a loose connection on the engine.

Then if ever I ask for advice I will sure to be more thorough in my explanation of fault and bike.
Cheers squid.
Glad to see you solved it :D
