I saw Smoo cave when doing a tour of Scotland with my Dad when younger. We had randomly decided to camp nearby and found it by accident. While out for a walk we saw the blow hole/stream entrance first and were confused by the "Do not drop coins, people below" sign when on the bridge... Quite surprised to find a mahoosive cave when we crossed the road and descended toward the beach!

Only one I can think of just now, love this (Electric Brae): https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=electric+brae&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&hq=electric+brae&t=h&z=15

Dunmore Pineapple always makes me smile. Hardly a destination but we could always stop in and say hello to Andy when we're there. Could start a run from there though. Get the tea on Guru!

no but it's a place of interest and that's what this thread is about.

i'm also thinking of adding 'bikers gathering places' in as well.

i have been thinking about it a bit more and i might just split everything up into districts so members can use the list as a reference while planning a day out or visiting Scotland.

anything goes and if you think it should be included in the list then tell us about it.

Bibs has put his xmas tree in so I would like to suggest echo glen, not a proper name, but kind gives you an idea why to go here. It has the finest echo's of anywhere i have ever been, quite well known by locals but not many others.

http://goo.gl/maps/IvWwU (http://goo.gl/maps/cJdBx)

Stop just up from the cattle grid.

Another weird tree, passed this a couple of times but no idea what it's about. Looks like someone's undies drying off lol, but it's been 'decorated' like this for many years. Possibly a Pagan site?

It's not far off the A9 at the Tore roundabout.

[EDIT] Ah yes, a clootie well. I vaguely remember hearing that before.

Kitty's tea room in New Galloway.

Like a trip back in time, and the panelled ceiling is fantastic. Service is excellent, cakes are amazing and all served in fine china. My mum is actually donating her china tea service just so it is used instead of sat in her loft. Open sunday, nowt else is in New Galloway. Then ride down west side of loch ken to Ringford.

Not cheap, but worth it.

On Sunday going to the start of the Autumnal Adventure. I came past these bad boys.

The Kelpies, at the River Forth entrance to the Forth and Clyde Cannal.

Dunno if they're a visit thing or a be impressed as you ride by, but they are going to be amazing when their finished (not far off at the moment) to be honest they're amazing already.

Naw.. they're a pain in the t!ts.

Everyone slows down on the motorway to look at them which causes more than usual traffic build up at rush hour.. Plus I've seen idiots trying to drive and take photos at the same time.
