Hi all,

I am looking to lighten my flywheel, are there any off the shelf places I can get this from like most other engines or would I need to get this machined?

How much would this mod usually cost to get as well? Plan is to keep the stock internals but get the flywheel lightened to take some of the stress off of the crank etc.

Thanks in advance :)

Just get it done somewhere, not more than an hour or two to do it. Get the starter clutch taken right down as well.

Zoran/TWF does lightened total loss ones, not sure if you want to keep charging?

Thanks for the heads up on the starter clutch as well, I will try and find somewhere local for it, do I just ask for them to lighten it? lol

I don't really want to run a total loss system as I would also have a small fuel pump running as well - plus its easier if the battery was always fully charged when running so that if I have an issue and the engine stalls I can easily restart it.

How much would it usually cost?

BDK sell a race generator and rectifier kit which charges above (off top of my head) 5,000rpm for the carbed and injected bikes.

Have been using these on our race SV's were the rules allow it.

Hmm I can't really afford that sort of cash just to have a lightened flywheel, I guess the engine is happy at around stock power to cope ok though?
