Now then, I've had this on my bike for a few months now (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exhaust-Danmoto-XG-1-Suzuki-SV-650-SV650-N-S-03-11-2003-2011-EX465-/221027387966?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3376424a3e) and as I've decided to convert this bluey of mine to a track bike I thought I'd see just how loud it was to see if I could get on track with it...

Now my last can... blue flame, this one hit 98db(A) on the noise test (Around 5000rpm I think) last time out at Cadwell.

I fired up the bike for the noise test with this one and was surprised to say the least... 98 db(A) @ idle!

Holy ****! I thought. I carried on to test at 4500-5000 and... well...

it put a smile on my face but safe to say... it wont get on any track days like this... so the blue flame is back on for now.

Was alot of fun while it lasted... This can made me giggle every time I got on the bike and after all... what else do we ride for apart from the giggles!

Is it too loud for everyday road use?

Depends really... At first I felt a little silly going through town with it but you get used to it... and then you get giddy!

It's loud enough to physically hurt your ears if you open it up somewhere with high acoustics like a narrow walled road or tunnel (even with ear plugs in).

I have no plans to sell it yet as I am having to use the link pipe for it with the old can...

For an idea of what it sounds like... just take your existing end cans off and you'll know... The engine noise is completely un molested... maybe a little more of bubbly echo with the can though

We got a kid in the village with one on a 250.
Just need to time chucking a hammer out the car window when he overtakes

I tried something similar once, it absolutely murdered the bottom end torque and sounded too much like a h*rl*y wannabe...
