Why is my red temperature light permanently on? If i remove the connector on the ground wire on the thermostat, the light will go off. Whats going on? Can I run the bike with the ground wire permanently off to keep the light off?

Problem 2, I have a GSXR 600 K7 front end on the bike and therefore can't use the SV speed sensor. What do people usually do to get the speedo working when such a conversion is done?

Thanks for any help!

Perhaps your coolant temperature switch is stuck on.
You can move the speed sensor to the rear wheel. I got the idea from some other SV site, where I found a good explanation, with pictures, of a way to do it. Google got me there.
Oh, and yes, you can run without the factory supplied overheat indicator for as long as you want. Just be aware, if your bike overheats, you won't get any early warning.

You could run the bike with the wire off the sensor, but it's easy to replace so why not do so?

Speedo: Hall sensor inside front mudguard, magnets in disc bobbins is the most convenient way. I have done this several times and it works fine, some people have mounted the sensor on a caliper bolt - and that looks the half-assed bodge that it is.

This is the sensor you need AND it's cheap as chips! :D

(OK - chips aren't that expensive)
