I saw a piece of history today in one of my dealers. They have just taken delivery of a Honda NR750 with 10000 km on the clock. It has been bought by one of their customers for £50k but has been standing for almost 8 years. They are currently in the process of stripping it and getting it back to good running condition. The first issue was that the fuel left in it was like varnish everywhere. The fuel pump is completely knackered due to this and a replacement has been ordered which is £1100!:smt118! It is in absolutely superb condition but will clearly need a lot of work to ensure that when it gets going it runs as well as it looks. I'll try to get some pictures when they get it back together.:D

Would be interesting to see what it is advertised at, and what it is sold at. There are for example currently 3 listed on eBay at prices from £85 - 100k and they have been listed for some time. I can see one has been listed for well over a year, the others not far off. A tad over priced?

Somebody parked a NR750 with fuel in it, and let it sit for 8 years? Probably not criminal, but really stupid!

to be fair if they'd left it dry all the seals would have perished. They're not made to stand still!

I think the owner bought it to restore and possibly ride so I don't think it will be up for sale. Last one I saw was on Ebay for £200k and was a very low mileage runner bought directly from a Honda museum. I never did see what it sold for.
Theres been one in the shop window of Fastline in Preston for years. It was up for sale for anything between £80k and £100K depending on when you looked but now it appears to be not for sale. Its still in the window though.

Absolutely, machinery stays in better condition when being used, but if you have to let a bike sit, at least drain the fuel.
