Had these since 2007, worn them to death. Now no longer waterproof on left thumb and have next to no insulation value.
Probably over 100k on one pair of gloves, these have pretty much worn out one SV650, completely killed a GPZ500 and taken a decent bite out of the XJ900 too.
Absolutely impressed with these.
Unfortunately you can't buy them any more, but I'm definitely buying a set of "Newman" replacements.
Have you got a link to the Newman replacements?

Had a gander at the Newmans at the bike show, they look like nice quality kit but a bit lacking in impact protection for my liking, which is a shame cos I really wanted to like them.
Some of the Knox winter/waterproof gloves looked bang on though, which I think may be where my next pair come from.

See I thought about that, then I thought well I've done probably more than my fair share of falling off and never really been inclined to backhand the ground, and if I did well the knuckles wouldn't really help.
Far far more likely is the classic FOOSH (been there done that broke 5 of my carpal bones) which the halvarssons have as good protection in that area as any other glove you'll find.
The conclusion I came to is that the terminator style knuckle guards are as much a fashion thing as a safety thing from a risk - likelihood - severity - mitigation sort of view.

So, newman's arrived. Very different to the dry level which I'm half disappointed about!
Not worn them yet but they feel warm, fit similar to the dry level, nothing evident to wipe your visor with though?? That's an unwelcome surprise.
