Front spark plug won't come out. I can't get ma removal tool to grip the plug, looks like there is a rubber washer deep in the hole ontop of spark plug preventing the removal tool from getting in. Anyone seen this before? Thanks.

Sounds like the rubber insert from a spark plug socket has got stuck in there previously and now you cant get the socket in far enough? Might be able to hook it out with a bent bit of wire?

I'm guessing it was on there prior to you attempting to remove it? So you could still ride it home if you can't get the rubber washer out.
i agree with Geo in what it is and how to try and remove it. Maybe able to try a small flat head to stick into it and pull it out too.

Basically from the top, I went to work on it the other morning in a big old rain, after work the bike only started on one cylinder so I'm tryin to get the front plug out.

Looking at your profile pic, it looks like ye be lacking a fender extender. Essential bit of kit for any SV if you plan on riding in anything other than dry conditions, or enjoy riding with one soggy front cylinder. :)

use RRG round the rubber flange at the top of the plug cap that along with a mud flap and you'll never have a soggy plug again.
