Anyone on here got experience or advice for spraying 2k clear coat over vinyl decals on a petrol tank without the decals melting or wrinkling? Dry coat done first then then wet coats but still wrinkling decals grr, base coat and clear coat from same company so are compatible and vinyl is spray overable. Tank will be sanded back again before second try so any advice before the rest of my hair is pulled out, thanks in advance.

What's this dry coat and wet coat business? 2k you mix up and put in the gun, one coat and done.

If your vinyl is vehicle grade then it shouldn't wrinkle. At least I've never had it wrinkle.

Dry coat is very fine mist to seal decals then wet coat is as normal. Can only think vinyl is not up to the job and is reacting to paint, but it shouldn't be. Ta for reply bud :)

I just stick the vinyl to the paint work and then go on with one normal coat and leave it, not sure if that's the professional way of doing it but haven't had any problems. I think the stuff I have is u-pol, can't remember, but I would say its the vinyl that's not up to the job.
