so been looking around for a good set of racket spanners for my dad. Dont know why he wants them, but my dad likes tools. found a few but after reviews cheap is not a good plan so for a set from 8-18 ish would be good.

wera joker spanners top of the list atm but at are there any cheaper sets you would recommend?

what are your thoughts on wera tools and the joka spanners?

You want spanners that make a lot of NOISE ???

Only joka'ing ' Boom Tish '

Got craftsman from america and halfords set, both have been very good and no problems, just gotta be careful how much you force you put thru' the ratchet. The swivel head on the Halfords set is quite useful for getting to those awkward ones.

yes i meant to put ratchet spanners my bad.
Yeah a few people have mentioned the halfords sets are good. other ones are snap on ones, going to look at machine mart and screwfix. now its a matter of quailty against price.

Agree with Nteck. Yes they will be expensive, but they will last a life time & more.
If you want something cheaper but still good quality look at Kamasa & Bluepoint as well.

It's been a few years. (10+) but my 8 to 19mm were roughly £200. So. £20 a year is worth avoided smashed knuckles.

Draper do an expert range that includes up to 32mm socket and spark plug sockets!!! Ideal for wheel removal and obviously spark plug removal!! Cost under £50 from amazon delivered. I had to replace it a few years back due to getting stolen but have had no probs with it for the past 10 + years. Here's it is on eBay but looks like it's gone up in price a bit. Item no. 130611381573

No but the bar it comes with does. Also fits nicely on a torque wrench too

Dude, he's asking for ratchet spanners.

I would go Teng TT6508RF or draper expert 07036.

Don't go for the cheap ones, they are a fragile... with a coarse ratchet action that's no good and tend to be bulky.

You can get snapon or Mac as individual spanners.
So if it's for a specific task you could get the cheapest but quality option and supplements.
One of the younger tec s at work done that.
10,12mm.

I don't rate snapon as high as they do when setting the prices lol

True I've lately got better deals of mac, I've a 10,12,13 mm mac combo spanner flexi head for home bike stuff. It sits in the hand better than snap on imo

Facom, a set of the typical sizes for a Japanese bike is about £80 +/- a bit.

Edit: Forgot to say; I have some Wera electrical screwdrivers which are excellent quality, I have no experience of their other tools.

I think most people have a version of this on here. I've had mine for 5+ years and shows no sign of wear.
