Just a quick note... to say I know the weather is rubbish and we are all in a rush this time of year.

I had the good deed feeling tonight after spoting a fellow biker had sparks comming from his bike on the way past my work I jumped up and down like a mad man got him to pull over and found his heavy duty locking chain had broken free from under the seat and worked its way down past the back wheel caught on the swing arm and was bouncing off the road.

He was very greatfull and blamed the rush of christmas yada yada for not securing it properly.

Ride safe all its not worth rushing sometimes.

Tom.

That could have potentially ended very badly and most likely ruined christmas for him. Glad you were able to prevent that. :D

Two of the things I always remember right now ...

1. Watch out for dem leaves!! Not just on the road, not just braking for junctions, but when you get to your destination chances are you'll be somewhere less busy with more leaves. Maybe you'll come to a halt safely no drama, then do what I did a few days ago and put my foot on a squidgey pile and have a near drop experience.

2. With the low sunlight, if you can see the cars clearly ahead and your shadow is out in front of you, cars at junctions looking towards you will most likely be blinded, and see nothing but a faint angelic silhouette ... which incidentally is what will be taking you up to heaven when they pull out on you, unless of course you do naughty things, and then Satan is going to roger you for all eternity. But basically, if you can see your shadow out in front of you, nobody in front of you can see you.
