Keep seeing that Bimota in his house, me want!

What speed could he have gotten up to if on tarmac, 112mph on bloody sand!

Good program, looking forward to the next one :)

Madman, balls the size of melons, nuts they all fit but fair play.

Good effort :notworthy: :smt041:thumbsup:

They need to go abroad to one of those massive straights like where James May had the bugatti

Guy Martin is a legend :D

Cracking watch that was, totally hard as nails risk taker. I took a risk and went from two sugars in my tea to just one and im still getting over it ;) Top bloke and legend. :)

Yep, best prog by far this Chrimbo, I was willing him on to break the record.

Plus Laura Trott, huba huba

Really enjoyed the show, but how sad am I for thinking about the poor sod who had to clean all that salty sand out of that otherwise immaculate race truck......

Great stuff from Guy. James May's Mecano motorbike was amazing too.

Love this show. Guy Martin is a proper nutcase thats for sure. Was amazed they got that bike to start after being 30m underwater for hours too.

Yeah been watching it. He is a complete and utter nutter. Loving the program. Hopefully he can finally get a TT win this year if he's not injured doing this crazyness lol

Her appearance on TopGear was so funny.

I do SO hope Guy gets a TT win as he comes over as such a nice bloke. The series has been epic so far so fingers crossed it continues in the same way.

Been loving the series, some cracking entertainment.

.....but am I the only one that has been wishing they would do more at the end. Like with the cycling they hit 110 at bruntingthorpe then "only" managed 112 on Pendine sand. Mightily impressive, but why sand and why not another run at bruntingthorpe/ somewhere longer/ oval on tarmac. Or with the plane, we only saw one flight which was supposed to be the first test, but then nothing after or anything much about the record they were supposed to be breaking.

Or am I just being too fussy?

Sand, however hard, is vastly more power-sapping than tarmac.

christian1000
15-01-14, 10:28 PM
Exactly, and it also flys up behind things, like oh I dunno say a racing truck with a big board on the back to create a big wake and as such you can't see or breathe

missyburd
16-01-14, 09:56 AM
Not being fussy, it seems like he's had to squeeze 4-7 months of prep for each record into an hour and there just isn't enough time to fit the actual record-breaking attempt in. So much suspense built up getting him ready for it then bam! over in a few minutes and the credits are rolling. Guess he's not up to A-list status yet, might get longer airtime then haha.

and so to speak you've hit the nail right on the head there, guy's an absolute headcase I reckon! lol

here, here I quite agree trev, I don't reckon a nicer bloke could win the tt than guy.

hopefully by more us tuning in to watch though, it shall help him get a bit more air time!

From what I remember the sand was better because it was smoother and longer than Bruntingthorpe. The gaps in the concrete caused too many problems.

Don't know why he didn't do many more runs in the plane, but my guess, either the plane was knackered or he was

Yep

I still really enjoyed the plane one, and was egging him on to get it in the air

christian1000
16-01-14, 10:57 PM
Aye OK, but then somewhere like millbrook with a nice big banked bowl to go round and round would be the best choice in my eyes, ah well never mind.

Don't know why he didn't do many more runs in the plane, but my guess, either the plane was knackered or he was

Probably a combination of the two judging from the effort required :smt043

What's the next one? Was it skeleton/bob sleighing?

I was given a Guy "Tea" mug for Christmas, but to my great shame as a northerner I don't like tea, more a coffee man, but I daren't put coffee in lest it smash itself in disgust!

It is comedy how much he seems to drink. I bet he has some during the fuel stops at the TT :)

l think the film was called'on the edge' about his TT attempts, very interesting, great fun, but he was often late for things because that was what he was doing, very open about it, an excellent film, but not one to watch with the kids

Great episode, I did laugh when he fell off the skateboard!

The only thing that I thought was why didn't he do another run from further up the slope to raise the record even higher, as he seemed to be well within his and the sleds limits?

Still a great prog.

Yeah really good series and mav i too did laugh followed by an ouch as i too know the pain of skateboard gravel rash (inset blood curdling scream)

I did wonder if our resident female ornithologist noticed the lesser spotted lycra clad martin ;)

Muahaha, I spotted it in the trailer the week before and was counting down the days

That faceplant was pretty epic "chicks dig scars" pmsl

Did anyone notice the dates the sledding record was filmed? Some superfast editing going on there! Gutted it's finished!

Yeah I was surprised at that. I thought those posts on "Guy's" twitter were just timed for the airing of the episode, but I guess they were actually as it happened.

Personally I was disappointed Amy didn't have tighter trousers on, like when she was on Top Gear

How Guy fits those massive testicles in his trousers, I will never know

Watched TT3 last night, brilliant film, all the riders are nuts but Guy Martin is as nutty as they come.

The tv show is excelent as well, he clearly doesn`t have the fear gene.
