Carol and I are going to be Grannies.

As you can imagine we were not hugely impressed when the kids finally told us, given that they both live with us, she is still in college and he has only just started an apprenticeship in engineering. At only eighteen they are in my view both too young to be parents, but they know best it seems. So I can see a lot of Granny babysitting in the future.

Despite our concerns for all of their well being, the child will be greatly loved by us both after it is born. After all, what can be better than Lesbian Biker Grannies? :smt027

Well, congratulations.
Kids are fun. Getting up at night, not so much. But there must be a few months of time to put in sound proofing!

My mum found herself in a similar situation 11 years ago, except my sis lived at home and didn't have a boyfriend or job though she was 29. Some on here have met my 2 nephews and despite their situation not being the norm - but what is these days - they're growing up to be great kids, not like the brats that some of her friends who have the more traditional mum at home, dad on a good wage and grandparents living down the road seem to have produced.

The great thing is they'll have the coolest grannies at school, grow up with a far from narrow minded view on the world and you can do loads of fun stuff on the pretence it's to keep the grandchild happy... I'm taking Nanny and the boys to see Frozen tomorrow and this morning we've been off roading the new ride on motorbike the younger one got for Christmas from me.

Just make sure you lay down ground rules on how much help you'll give, my mum isn't available to babysit every night, she cooks for everyone on set days, and the kids know Nanny is boss, not a pushover.

Thank you every one for kind words, what makes this all a bit strange is that the kids tried to keep it a secret from us! :smt102

So once said child is old enough, it can come and play Lego with Granny Dirty and Granny Carol. (Yes, I want to be Granny Dirty because of my filthy mouth and dirtier sense of humour.) I am a little excited about being a Granny, but have worries that the child will disappear and we will never see it. After all, the kids are very young and can we really expect them to stay together as a couple for so long? I am sure that every grandparent has these fears though. :smt028

So despite our advice that the kids needed to :toss: and :safe: we will soon have a screaming baby in the house. :smt022

Congrats!! SWMBO had her little one at 18, unplanned but would get rid of it! He is now 2 and a half and I've been playing (step)daddy for 18months! You'll probably find they didn't tell you for fear of your disapproval, or trying to figure out what to do, you can only hope they have talked it through and deemed it a good idea!
I understand your concerns for them being too young, (I'm only 25 and I feel too young to have kids of my own) but having kids makes you grow up pretty damn quick!!

Might bring 'em closer together though. Congrats to you both, the question is, how will Alby react to a new little mite in the house! :)

My first granddaughter was a total surprise as we did not know the son's girlfriend was even pregnant. Never mind she was still at school.

Still she is 7 now and we wouldn't swap her for the world. Her mum is a credit, even though she and my son are no longer together we see our granddaughter on a regular basis and she even stays with us occasionally. The monster even crept into my bed at 3am this morning.

Thank you folks, your words do help a lot with easing my worries about this.

As for Alby, breeding season is coming again soon, so I fully expect her to get super possessive over the wife again!
