Was okay that but would have been better if it included more on the build, still good though. :)

thought that was pretty pants, i don't think they stuck to meccano the entire way and i didn't understand why it seemed to take him all night to get from ramsey to keppel gate when it's only 10 miles and he was apparently doing 15mph up the water works.

Also it wasn't as tight a finish as they claimed as all the starting boards ect would be out.

Not as good as the other programmes he has done. Still, not bad though.

I enjoyed that. I would liked to have seen a lot more detail of how they built it. The bits they did explain were pretty clever though

James May is not just man's telly. I have never seen him in anything bad, we have recorded it to watch, also got Clarkson' s programme about Arctic convoys to watch, seriously looking forward to it.

As Gav said, something don't quite stack up with the time, at times they were going way faster than 5mph, 37m /5mph is ~7.5 hours.

Allowing for the breakdowns, you could've walked it in way less time than what they done it in.
Still enjoyed it though.

Not as good as I hoped it was going to be, and Simi and the other engineers are the ones doing the real work, JM is just the vehicle for getting on TV.

Guy Martins prog was better, as was Clarksons PQ17 documentary

Enjoyed it,But it should have been given a bit more testing before they tried the attempt,
Worst was the Rubbish speed they got out of a golf trolly motor!

Agreed, Guy likes to get stuck in, which I'm sure JM did too, they just didn't allow to do that much.

Better than most other crap on tv still though, clarksons program was very good, better than expected tbh.

Loads of stuff didn't add up. At the crack of dawn they're at kepple gate which is literally 5 miles from the grandstand yet when they finally get to the grandstand all the marshalls and crowd are out. When they get to governors dip the roads are still open yet when they get round to the other end the roads shut (this combined with the previous point say's to me they didn't make it and had to stop whilst they had the race). A the start at the grandstand the road is shut then when they've got to the top of bray hill the roads are open. The biggest wtf was why was there a time limit to get round? It was open roads, if they didn't make it before the race starts then they could just wait until it finishes and the roads open back on, they spent enough time broken down that i wouldn't matter.

Also it wasn't the TT it was the ManxGP (I'm being picky now)

I ****ing hate staged telly programs that just edit, lie and make up **** for entertainment. That's why I hate topgear. Telly is turning to some ****ty staged american TV template.

I have to agree Gav, the staged thing in tv is really starting to annoy me too, no need for it, I want to see warts and all, not fake crap.

The above said, I still enjoyed it.

It's on catch up, have you got sky or council telly?

Wideboy
04-01-14, 11:05 PM
council telly? all the benefit scumbags round here have sky, but yes i have sky.

Specialone
04-01-14, 11:08 PM
It's basic tv, ie, no sky or cable lol

Sky on demand is brilliant for catch up, if you haven't got an on demand box, get one, so much to download, sky sent me one free too.

Otherwise catch up on BBC I Player on your laptop?

At least the Guy Martin program should be good tonight, if last weeks episode was an indicator of how good the series is set to be

Not a drz I think, I think it was a RM250, drz doesn't have a kick starter, dr350 did but that wasn't a dr350.

Pretty sure all the RMs were two strokes. Is the competition DR kick start? Either way I wasn't being that serious.....

Wideboy

aren't RM250's 2 stroke?

Possibly, I know nothing about the comp ones tbh.

I was just seriously impressed with just how much abuse that engine took without bending the conrod. I guess a single is less likely to hydraulically lock than a multi but even so!

Specialone

Singles get drowned all the time, as long as you know not to start it and get the plug out then turn it over, it would not do any damage.

Seems it was a rmz450...

Oh and btw, modern rmz250's are four strokes not two strokes.

Looks very much like the RM -450 from its profile
Found this quote
"So then expect to see Guy sat astride his modified Suzuki RMX450Z, using the aid of skis, attached to his motorbike to do something that challenges the very rules of motion and gravity."
