Are there any budget front brake pads that are any good?

EBC HH front pads are only £28 with budgets about £21. The saving isn't worth it. These things stop you when you need it most.
Granted budget GG are about £14 but they're about a useful as a lump of Brie when it comes to stopping you and you will be replacing them every 5 miles.

I wouldnt bother. Always go for the best pads and tyres you can afford, i say :)
Go for budget, then when you hit a car you can blame whoever bought the things that tried to stop you :)

Look for Goldfren, Vesrah and Armstrong, cheaper than most brands, work fine. There are plenty of others I can't offer an opinion on, but those three are just fine.
I've heard all the horror stories and they are all carp, every criticism I have ever heard could quite fairly be levelled at any brand - even the market leaders.

Had Goldfren pads in my FZR250 and GSX650 and not found them any worse than OE pads, but not better either.
Have just ordered a set of SBS Ceramic (HF) pads for one of my other bikes.

I can vouch for Goldfren pads. Used them for ages. I'm currently running Armstrong GG pads all round, work very well indeed but don't last very long.
