I've bought a chainsaw. They are the best thing since the invention of the motorbike but with many advantages.

1 - When it is wet you can still fire it up and have fun

2 - You can go out and do it in your own back garden

3 - The wife and family don't think you are a nutter for owning one, unless you live in a city and have no reason to own a chainsaw, then they really do think you are a nutter - solution - buy a log burner or firepit !!!

4 - Fantastic noise - been looking for a racing can but no luck yet

5 - You can buy lots of gear to go with it - special helmet, trousers, gloves, boots - just like biking but you get to buy another set of protective clothing

6 - No tax, insurance or MOT

7 - Makes you feel manly - who doesn't want to own a chainsaw

8 - Something else to clean and polish after everytime you use it = more time in mancave playing with machines

9 - You get to burn stuff ( gotta wait a year) after you have chopped it up

10 - And most importantly - it is bloody good fun cutting up wood and chopping down tress !!!

So to cure your PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome), 1st get a good reason to buy a chainsaw and then buy one.

Anybody else out there in the mighty org got one ? Maybe we can have a photo section of me & my chainsaw ???

I nearly bought a chainsaw pizza cutter (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chainsaw-Pizza-Cutter-Macho-Mens-Kitchen-Gift-/370967585370?pt=UK_Kitchen_Accessories&hash=item565f64225a) on ebay earlier, but then I got a motorbike pizza chopper (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NOKI-Pizza-Chopper-and-Motorbike-Pizza-Cutter-Slicer-Novelty-Gadget-/321297567823?pt=UK_Kitchen_Accessories&hash=item4aced3d04f) instead. That's about as close as I've come

I used one and it was fun. The bar was actually only half the length of the mighty tree trunk i was felling, so it took all day and I fecked the blade. However, the fear of kickback and severing my face provided thrills vaguely similar to biking, it was twice as deafening and the 2 stroke smell is good.

Overall I would rate it 7/10 on the manly scale.

Used to sell them at a shop i worked at. They are brilliant

Just make sure you keep the chain tensioned properly (just like a bike funnily enough). Saw plenty of them with seriously dangerous chains come in for service

I can see the appeal, I love using a real saw or the scorpion, a small power saw we own. I am always trying to beat DJ to be the one to use it, I love cutting things down.
