Hi,
My bike had a tail tidy fitted by a previous owner. The problem is that in wet weather the number plate gets pretty much obliterated by mud by the time I reach the end of our drive. I really need to do something to protect this. Has any one fitted any of the various rear extenders that are on offer, like the Pyramid "Ductail"s for example?
Thanks, Tony S

The stock mudguard works really well, bunch of feckin tarts cutting them off to spray their pillions and luggage with crap for no reason...

You have a point, but I think it might be a lot of hassle removing the existing tail-tidy and under tray, and I don't have the original mudguard. I could probably get hold of one, but postage will cost probably more than one of the Pyramid bits.
I might try making something.
This is what I have at the moment

I see dont think it would makenmuch difference to be honest. I removed my rear fender and put a tail tidy on and I never suffer from any dirty back at all
There was a post recently of someone who made a DIY one. They cut the end off the old snow plough and fitted it to the bottom of the plate. But as you don't have one you may be stuffed.
How about just a piece of plastic from b&q etc? Couple of holes and nuts n bolts and job done?

Yes I was thinking along those lines, but I hope I might find some suitable materials at home, maybe aluminium so I could bend to shape.

I think I have a couple of original undertrays knocking around. Postage should only be about a tenner.

Cheers, I might take you up on that if I can't find anything suitable at home.
