So sorry to hear. :(
Like losing a family member.

Been through this recently (still going through it tbh)
and wishing there were something I could say but the words fail me.
Just a very sad time.

All the best to you and the family.
RIP Maisie

Thank you all for your kind comments and words.
Maisie was a wonderful companion generally, and accompanied me on hundreds of miles of mountain walks here in Wales. The house feels very empty without her.

My condolences, they get to mean so much to you.

Think of the positives - sounds like there's plenty of them.

Pretty lass, they don't get long enough on this earth. We know we're privileged to have their friendship for as long as we do but doesn't make it any easier.

My deepest sympathies :( it is never easy but the way I think of it is this is a trade off for all the happiness they have given and by my reckoning there is no way the sadness even comes close to the amount of joy and companionship.

Truly sorry to hear of your loss and hope you feel better as soon as possible.

It may help to think of it this way too.

Not just the happiness she brought into your life, but the happiness, and love you put into hers as well.

I'm going to miss both my cat and dog when they're gone, but they've both had an awesome life, lots of love, and been very well cared for, and they both know it.

It works both ways.
