Oh help me dear org, DJ has just put his tablet down and picked up the laptop with a very self satisfied look on his face, something to do with sorting out getting an e-reader on eldest child's tablet, how long do I give it before I go to bed and leave him playing with tech on his own? No rude replies please, I can supply them all myself.

How long did it last?

My bet is he got 3 hours kip last night and has either given up and bought a kindle or will spend most of the working day today googling for a solution. And then buy a kindle. :)

I think he's glued a book to the back of the tablet and called that "good enough".

Nope, problem sorted in under an hour. The problem was that eldest son decided to get a Microsoft Surface running pseudo Windows 8.1 and none of the various reader apps can open DRM ePub books that we've paid for and downloaded. I found several readers but they would only open free books so no use. Solution was to find some software which can strip out DRM which I wouldn't normally do but I figured that if I'd bought a paperback I would happily let him read it so why shouldn't he read ebooks I've paid for. Sorted :) . Happy him, smug me
