Hi All,

My name's David, I joined the forum a couple of days ago. Another forum member, maviczap, mentioned the E.A.R. March meat run and said I might be able to come along which would be great, if possible. Anything involving a meat raffle sounds like a good day out.

I have had a quick look in the E.A.R. forum but couldn't find anything specific about it for this year? I'm probably just being dense so my apologies if this is a pointless thread but I had a couple of questions if that was alright:

1. As a fairly novice rider would I be able to keep up or do you really need to know what you are doing with your bike?
2. Could a mate come along who rides a GSXR or is it an SV thing only?

Oh, and just thought I'd chuck this in. Mine is the Silver:
13489

Thanks!

Oi Mr Thicky ;)

The previous years threads have disappeared, probably Skip the mod tidying things up.

Q1. Yes, its not a knee down fest, in fact if you can ride on farm tracks & over temp wooden bridges, its a big help.

Q2. Yes, GSXR's allowed

I'll start a thread nearer the time.

There is no 'might be able' to come along, you WILL attend!

Silver is the best colour, but only if its a curvy :thumleft:

You'll have a good time Goose, it's a great route and if you get to the cafe early they do a nice greasy fryup

Defo not an Sv only deal, they're normally well out numbered...I'll be on either a Ktm or a Triumph :p

Can you guys remind me about this nearer the time as me and Mr LPH might join you. I never win anything useful in competitions (a Smurfs LP and a racing bike suitable for a 6ft man when I'm a midget spring to mind) so since I don't eat pork I'm bound to win a massive ham or a packet of sausages.

I'll certainly try to remember LPH, we can post an invite into the Essex Lounge too..

I've found 2 routes from the past, one slightly longer than the other, for reference here they are:

117 mile route (https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Turnpike+Rd/B1085&daddr=Station+Rd/B1102+to:Swaffham+Rd/B1102+to:Newmarket+Rd/A1303+to:Barnwell+Rd/A1134+to:Queen+Edith's+Way/A1134/A1307+to:High+St/A1309+to:Maris+Ln+to:Barton+Rd/A603+to:New+Rd/B1046+to:High+St/B1046+to:Gransden+Rd/B1046+to:B645+to:B660+to:B660+to:Infield+Rd/B660+to:Ermine+St/B1043+to:B1090+to:Sawtry+Way/B1090+to:A1123+to:Hill+Row+Causeway/A1123+to:Haddenham+Rd/A1123+to:Wicken+Rd/A1123+to:Turnpike+Rd/B1085&hl=en&sll=52.406503,-0.202217&sspn=0.087339,0.222988&geocode=FcARHgMdxGIHAA%3BFQQhHgMdftYFAA%3BFZqGHQMd dv0EAA%3BFc2zHAMd5D8DAA%3BFWSuHAMdaHwCAA%3BFY8wHAM dUjwCAA%3BFTYyHAMdHsIBAA%3BFeIaHAMd9K4BAA%3BFQRbHA Md3CoBAA%3BFcY_HAMdd_wAAA%3BFXowHAMdYar-_w%3BFQVjHAMdFWD9_w%3BFfwVHQMdkKH7_w%3BFWkfHgMdd_L 5_w%3BFQL7HgMdxNb5_w%3BFYloIAMd8h37_w%3BFUk_IAMdnN H7_w%3BFcqkHwMdE6b8_w%3BFdDZHgMdbQT-_w%3BFbuOHgMdr2P__w%3BFVfZHgMdy8YAAA%3BFZ3XHgMd_Hw CAA%3BFSBGHgMdTjQFAA%3BFZoRHgMdkmIHAA&mra=mi&mrsp=17&sz=13&t=h&z=10)

If you join us from the start LPH, you can always peel off on the southern part of the route

Nope not guilty!

Welcome :)

Hopefully the Meat Run will go ahead - I have the heart wrenching decision of a day on the bike or a day with my family so will have to see nearer the time.

Get on it Dickie so I can put something in the calendar ;)
