Cleaning oxford panniers etc

Iv got a set of soft oxford sports panniers and tailback . They are a bit grubby now , what's the best way of cleaning them ? Can I put them in the washing machine or would that damage them and take the waterproof of them , thanks for any help

No idea, have they got a label in them somewhere?

I doubt a washing machine would be a great idea.
