Whilst a good deed was done, I couldn't help but think the guy probably doesn't have many friends based on the fact that he posted it up on youtube in a 'ooh, look at me' kind of way. That and he was so keen to help that he was obviously going nowhere to meet no-one.

Or he put someone else's needs before his own, and went out of his way to help a stranger. A believer in Karma?

Those who do good deeds and don't brag, I respect. He obviously spent a fair bit of time, editing the footage and uploading it, all for the sake of trying to get some credit. Not a truly selfless act really. :-/

Do you feel the need to tell everyone about it when you do?

No, but perhaps I see more good in people than bad?

who said he did it for credit? Perhaps it may provide some inspirational thoughts for others. Its the same as any Oxfam/Red Cross or charity advert.

I'm pretty sure the vid started by saying he left work early and was off to pick his kid up from school. Also he appears to be a vlogger so it'd be silly not to make a vid of that. He may be a sad boring git (he sounds like it) but that kind of vid helps restore my faith in humanity so it's a good watch. :)
As a side, there are no selfless acts anyway! :)

Well done that man. And we'll done to the bike training school for helping.
If I hax a helmet cam on when that happened I'd have probably posted it as well.
Not everyone has an ulterior motive for doing good

I think that he did a good thing stopping, but why bother posting it? I regularly stop to offer help to people, whether it is the lorry driver with an enormous tractor on the back who could not figure out how to get to the farm he was looking for or the lady who needed pushing off of the junction because her clutch had failed, no big deal really, why did he feel the need to you tube it. Basic human instinct to help others isn't it?

Wow. You do realise you're doing the same thing as him, right? You're basically saying "My deeds are as good as his, and I don't shout about them" and what you've done is shout about them and indirectly got recognition ... which is precisely what he's done. The only difference being he is a vlogger and had his camera running, so just added it to his vlogs in the same way you might just post in a thread.

Maybe he posted it in the hope that other people would take inspiration from it? Maybe he posted it in the hope he'd get a couple of subscribers? Maybe he posted it because he hoped the ad revenue from Google would pay for his kidney transplant?
One thing is for sure, that lad he helped couldn't give a toss and is very greatful that he stopped, regardless of the motive.
I hope if it happened to me some selfish blogger will come along and do the same.

becuase he's a V'logger, thats what he does, rides around and Vlogs. It's not an overly admirable passtime but at least he probably puts on the miles, This was a somewhat different experience and so he posted it.
Some people in this thread need to be a damn sight less cynical and when I'm the one criticizing others you KNOW there's a problem.

I'd rather the Samaritan was actually a member of this forum and owned up that it was him, I doubt that will happen if there's so much criticism of his video, I never posted this to discuss the merits of him posting the video on YouTube, more the act itself, of which I commend him.

The only person I know with that model of SV is SVNewbie and he is too much of a git to have done that.

It's no different to anyone that posts videos and pictures of their trackdays. Someone even made a post not long ago that was along the lines of "check me out on this track, aren't I truly a god among men" (even though it was fairly average). The second bike page on the pics section is full of people's track bikes and then also a picture of them with their knee down for good measure. No on says anything.
Btw I'm not knocking anyone that does as I've been guilty of it too.

Yeah. Angry Scottish alcoholic who sniffs seats in public places.
Such a shame.
