Brake bleeding - how?

I have read the old posts on how to bleed your brakes but I have tried most of the ways of doing this and still have no brakes.

I stripped down my callipers cleaned them and rebuilt them, and took the opportunity to put Hel braided lines on at the same time. (Twin line system)

All was going well until i came to bleed the lines I have tried the squeeze and release the brake nipple method and also tried the reverse bleed with a syringe method.

After both methods the brake lever comes back to the bar with no pressure:confused::confused:

Not sure were i have gone wrong ??

Have you tried bleeding the master cylinder?

This is the method i use.

Squeeze brake lever
Open Nipple
Slow count to 5
Close nipple
Release lever.
Complete 10 times on side then repeat on other side.

Repeat until lever is firm. Make sure all joints are tight and that you keep the fluid topped up. If your local to me, then more than happy to help.

Hi Guys thanks for the quick replies I am in north Notts, no not tried bleeding the master cylinder ?? is that when you open the banjo bolt slightly on the master cylinder while putting pressure on?

Yep.

Pump the lever a couple of times(don't pull it fully to the bar), then slightly open the banjo...whilst holding the lever...nip up banjo then repeat.

Once you've got some pressure, torque/tighten banjo bolt proper and bleed as normal. Start with the brake caliper furthest from the master cylinder.

I think I spent at least one and a half hours bleeding my brakes when I put the Hel lines on, just kept on taking it in turns with my dad to squeeze the lever until some pressure eventually built up, opened the nipple, and pumped some more. Make sure to give your lines a shake and bleed/rotate your mc to get all the air out. When you're not working on it leave the lever pulled back and cable tied to the bars to help any air find its way out. The other thing I found was instead of using the syringe to back bleed the system I used it to draw fluid through the system. Bleeding brakes is a pain in the ****, enjoy!

Sounds like yours is faired.
Turn steering to get maximum height of reservoir over master cylinder, this will encourage bubbles to migrate up to reservoir.
When I fitted Goodridge lines to my curvy N, all I needed to do was rattle the brake lever until the bubbles stopped appearing in the reservoir - it hardly needed bleeding!
Must admit when I later fitted HEL lines it wasn'y quite so easy.
