Greasing the sprocket carrier spacer?

This part ..... just cleaned it out today. Just wondered does it get greased and if so how much is too little / too much for this part of the sv.

A fab of grease won't hurt, but as it's just a spacer nothing turns on it - one end is pressed against the inner race of the wheel bearing and the other does the same against the sprocket carrier bearing. Once fitted all of those parts are held hard on the rear spindle.

Yes, grease the bearing. I recommend that you remove the seal, clean that area and grease in there too - the seal and outer spacer often don't keep much out and the resulting muck can be quite abrasive.

Sorted... ordered the outer left hand seal. Less than a fiver against the agony of having to replace the bearing because of gritty grease. Cheers bud.

Look at the muck that came out! 28k miles rear wheel. The left hand seal was a doddle to pop out. I used cotton buds to clean it out. Turned the bearing and kept cleaning it until all the gritty grease was removed then used cotton buds to push clean grease back into the sides of the bearings.
