I know there are some avid readers of the org, I've been reading his stuff for quite a few years now (mainly audiobook I confess) I read a couple then embarked on the dark tower, King's epic heptalogy. I realised that there were a lot of connections going on but having not read the accompanying works they passed me by mostly. I've more recently been working my way through the DT fringe works, books that refer to or are referred to by the Dark Tower series (I'm still struggling with Salem's Lot as my expectations were different)

Anyway, enough waffle, I LOVE connections and references and I've found someone has made a chart depicting most of them, including some I hadn't picked up on:

I just finished Insomnia and really liked it, I kinda need to re-read 11/22/63 (I now know the date of Kennedy's assassination thanks to this) after realising it ties in not only to Derry but it occurs during the time of "IT" which I read last year or so.

But once I'm done my lap of honour around the tower, I'm going to go back through the series as I've been meaning to anyway but I wanted to be aware of as many connections as possible this time.

Anyone else or just me? I know a lot of people have read his work but I also know a lot don't get on with it or find it tiresome but I really enjoy the premise of it all.

Thats a hell of a chart never would of thought that he had connections that ran that wide through his work but the man is a genius.
Was into King a few years back reading everything that the library (yes people still use them) had of his but I have a habit of skipping to another author and never really going back. Think I got into Dean Koontz and found his stuff more to my taste and better reading. Must go back though and read some of Kings classics again.

As an avid fan of Stephen King, Dean Koontz and the fantastic James Herbert (a truly lovely man RIP), I would advise reading the books of all three authors in order as they all have grown and changed their style over the years. It is lovely to be able to introduce my 14 year old son to all three of them and discuss the books all over again.
