If you put Tigger on a bouncy castle would he bounce twice as high or would the bounces cancel out and he'd just sit there?

Depends, if you chucked him in head first he would bounce same as anyone else.

Ar5e first, he'd probably bounce straight out again!

This surely depends on the frequency of his bounces and the ability of the bouncy castle to match that frequency with out a resonance setting in. Also if the bouncy castle provides a damping effect the frequency may well drop as energy from his bounces is removed. There are too many unknowns in the question to formulate a working theory.

So we need to know the frequency of Tigger bounces, the resonance of the bouncy castle and the damping effect it would have before the equations can be worked through.

This (http://www.acoustics.salford.ac.uk/feschools/waves/shm4.php) may help. :flower:

Also depends on the definition of a "Bouncy Castle"

Of course if it was one of those fully enclosed types would he keep going ad infinitum?

If it was fully enclosed we'd not know whether he was bouncing or not, or indeed whether he was alive or not!

Wtf

What starts as a random question turns existentialist and challenges whether if you can't see tigger is he still bouncing?

I'll put my money on him bouncing twice as high.

Depends on a number of factors...

Is the castle inflated?

Is is in the Hundred Acre Wood? In which case any bounce might be counterbalanced if a heffalump was also bouncing on the bouncy castle at the same time

Is Roo allowed on the bouncy castle at the same time unsupervised or is that not permitted until a proper risk assessment has been carried out by Eeyore?

No he would not, friction from the air would eventually cause him to feel tired and as he grew more tired, his bounces would be less efficient.

Also, the the continued bounces would also lose energy to the bouncy castle through heat of friction of his landings, this would be part of the damping effect. There are numerous energy losses, although removing the atmosphere would reduce some of them, it would also prevent further input from Tigger due to his expiration.

is that not permitted until a proper risk assessment has been carried out by Eeyore?

I do not recall that Eeyore was ever the appointed responsible person for health and safety, can it be confirmed if he has the relevant training for such a task and that he has not just been given the role as a way to avoid prosecution under health and safety law? I believe that his Union can provide training if he is a union confirmed Health and Safety Rep . Also bare in mind that every person who enters the bouncy castle environment is also responsible for carrying out their own immediate health and safety check.

Wtf?

Just imagined putting the bouncy castle inflator in reverse to suck all the air out and poor ol' Tiggers rear shock disappearing up his own ar5e....'ell of a recoil!

Roo is on the spitroast for lunch. He has no further involvement.

”I don’t see much sense in that,” said Rabbit. “No,” said Pooh humbly, “there isn’t. But there was going to be when I began it. It’s just that something happened to it along the way.”

If he was dead, would the cat be eating him?

We're almost getting to Schrodinger's Tiger here, and that's a whole different issue...

I bet if Tigger and Roo were both on the bouncy castle everyone else would get off pretty quickly, perhaps they would be bounced off. I like the image of Tigger on a bouncy castle, just imagine how high he would go.

Roo is but a child. Surely Kanga is more likely to be spit roasted? :D

But is she observant enough to notice that her little precious is on a bouncy castle with Tigger?

Amadeus

This seemingly innocuous question has turned into a Fermat's last theorem - looked straight forward but us actually far from it.

I assume that Tigger's bounce frequency is higher than Kanga's - kangaroos look rather graceful when going it full pelt whereas Tigger looks frenetic.
I think there is unlikely to be a common frequency between both so let's keep it simple and assume it's only Tigger on the castle.

Not sure it's relevant but does Tigger bounce on his tail or his bum?

In answer to your question, on his tail

In answer to your theory

Always on his tails because his tail is made of springs.

To properly determine the bounce, we'll need to know tigger's weight, spring rate and length, and damping settings.

Sir, if there are many people in a discussion and you're the only one who doesn't know what's going on, maybe you need to look at yourself rather than questioning us? :-)

The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is Tiggers are wonderful things
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is I'm the only one

The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is Tiggers are wonderful chaps
They're loaded with vim and with vigor
They love to leap in your laps
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is I'm the only one.

Tiggers are wonderful fellahs.
Tiggers are awfully sweet.
Everyone elses is jealous,
And thats why I repeat...

I still have a Tigger who sings the song when.you squeeze his tummy, from when my eldest was a baby.

He's now 12 :D

We've got Winnie The Pooh decorated furniture in our bedroom that used to live in our eldest's room - he's 14 now!!

Did Tigger ever use an umbrella?

I would want to 'borrow' your umbrella, that sounds fantastic, although thinking about it I do actually have an umbrella with little Winnie the Poohs all over it in the car, I always forget to use it.
