Randomly found this video of a cool cop having a bit of fun in the US with another rider.

Then after seeing something in the comments I followed this link:

Well that properly sucks. Didn't look dangerous in my eyes. Judging by other traffic, speeding would've been marginal. I suppose they have a harsher view on any even remotely non kosha behaviour out there. I wonder if a cop over here would've been subjected to the same treatment?
Does the CBR rider have his indicators on the whole time?

Can't have cops doing wrong and then expect them to arrest someone doing the same thing or setting a bad example.
I'm not surprised he was fired, but, it is a shame because he seems quite jovial about it all.
Also, even though it said Alabama I laughed when they started talking so hick

He was doing his job.
Hearts and minds and all that. By building a rapport with that rider he has made the police less d!ckish in that guy's eyes.

"Doing his job" doesn't involve drag racing and speeding...

Doing his job does involve speeding.
But I understand your point

There is a difference in speeding for a cause, in which he would be using blue lights and sirens, and speeding for "fun."
The issue is, if he speeds and he isn't on a "shout" why can't any Joe Public just do the same thing?
I am a manager of a site and everything I do has to be as an example to set. I sometimes wanna have fun too and just lark about, but, I can't because if I do something that can be used against me then it leads to some difficult working conditions
He did get his job back. http://www.policeone.com/officer-misconduct-internal-affairs/articles/6594038-Ala-cop-caught-drag-racing-gets-job-back/
Well Its fair he was punished as he was a bit of a pleb.
But loosing his job was OTT

Reminds me of the officer that convinced an R1 rider that the space between the passport controls at the Channel Tunnel was "no mans land" and neither British or French road traffic laws applied there. He promptly wheelied the entire 200m between them....... and nearly got arrested by the Gendarmerie!

LOL, that's just typical ice hockey! love the chants of "PD sucks" (meaning police department, for those not familiar with the term).

I thought that in ice hockey enforcers and fighting was considered part of the game so I'd not have thought there would be any fallout at all?

Wasnt that much of drag race on my eyes. Just abit of a laugh.
It didnt look like that continued accelerating to any silly speeds, just initially set off abit quickly.
I cant see much wrong in my eyes. But then maybe thats why im not inthe position to decide punishment for traffic offences lol. Everyone would be speeding everywhere n itd be ignored lol.
