With my first ever race coming up on Monday, I was just wondering:
If it were you, what would you say to yourself in the seconds just before the flag drops?
Answers on a post card please!

Something along the lines of charleyfarley's signature.
"Gas it w###a"
But more importanly, "who'll be in front of me, can I pass him?"

"Nothing."
Coherent thought is simply an unnecessary distraction.

Great stuff chaps,
My own personal thought was: "Finish the race!"
(Boring perhaps, making sure the wife lets me race again - certain!)

Remember sitting on the start line on Isle of Man thinking how lucky I was to be sat where so many greats had sat before.
Best of luck Monday, ride safe & enjoy
Cheers Stuart
Just really focus on the start lights (or flag) ...nothing else matters.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I've written them all on a list and stuck it to the speedo.
I hope the lights take long enough to let me contemplate them all!
Now, where's the Dio-calms.....

Hey, good going. At least you stacked it on the last race, not the first. A sore head will soon clear, the bike will need a bit of help. Made a list of what you need yet?

Nice one! At least you've got the balls to go and do it. Shame you binned it.
I always remember hearing a very eloquent Mrs Mike "Spike" Edwards tell her hubby "Now listen dear, in order to finish first, one must first finish".

Spike Edwards - one of the nicest guys I've had the chance to meet. He was so nice when I spent a Saturday night at Cadwell Park stripping a broken Harley down so it could have its top end rebuilt. Suppose he did just laugh at us tbh. Certainly nicer than the series winner that year who was too important to talk to the rest of the riders in the class.

You're right mate, he's really down to earth. Never had the chance to be instructed by him, but I've been around him a few days in the same garage and he's a great teacher.

Sorry mate, can't help. Just had a rummage as I thought I still had the master cylinder lying around but it's gone. Good luck finding forks, you need to persuade someone on here to up their bike to GSXR stuff and flog you their SV bits!
