This was an entirely wild Asian Forest Scorpion and it was really docile and gentle.

:cat:

I was also hoping that I could meet a nice rich Princess who would keep me in luxury and permanent ecstasy. Well some times you have to kiss a few toads first...

Toady is cute, little lizardy chap also sweet but you can keep your scorpions. They make me shudder and are about the only creature I'm really uncomfortable around, apart from Dave Preston in a onesie.

Don't mock the onesie woman
or I shall appear at your place of work wearing it and a placard saying
C... S.... Monkey beater

Hehe cool.

Not surprised people don't like scorpions... spider, wasp and lobster all at once!

Come to think of it I'm not really surprised that dave in a onesy makes people a bit uneasy either.

Nice one Jayne. I think they're amazing - not changed for millions of years. Must be doing something right. Did you lick it?

C... S.... Monkey beater

Is it just me or does that come very close to a euphemism?

Mavi has it, these are Great Crested newts being translocated to a new home :) This species is protected by law and you can be fined a very hefty sum for untoward actions against them

The great crested newt is also listed on Annex II and Annex IV of The Conservation (Natural Habitats & c) Regulations 1994. Regulation 39 makes it an offence to:
• Deliberately capture or kill a great crested newt.
• Deliberately disturb a great crested newt.
• Deliberately take or destroy the eggs of a great crested newt.
• Damage or destroy a breeding site or resting place of a great crested newt.
The legislation applies to all life stages of great crested newts.
The maximum fine on conviction of offenses under Section 9 Regulation 39 currently stands at £5,000 per offence i.e. per Newt. The CroW Act 2000 amendment also allows for a custodial sentence of up to six months instead of, or in addition to, a fine. In addition, items, which may constitute evidence of the commission of an offence, may be seized and detained.

So you're a newt wrangler now then myb ;) We do have them round my area, infact the new 14 million police HQ building (http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/about_us/news/2013/150213.aspx) here was stopped for a while as they found a crested newt near the site, which is just out the back of my house.

Sorry for derail Jayne xGx

I found another thing today, but we did not photograph it. Carol had a massive Leech on her boob (not me before any of you lot say otherwise!) but out guide a chap called Men (pronounced Min) removed it for her (the leech, not her boob!) and promptly splattered it. It was full of Carol and made a right mess. I had a tiny one on me, but it let go pretty quick and looked very poorly, but then I am on an awful lot of medication. Shame that this does not work for the mosquitoes! Anyway, said leech pretty much died before it got splattered leaving behind a tiny smear of my blood.

We have found some other things though.

Strangely I cannot seem to find the pictures of the Mangmuum that I have found, but that is probably for the best as most of you are not fond of big hairy spiders! ;-)
