No kids at home tonight. Even though they have all left home. We always end up with a visitor or grandkid.

Large G&Ts poured.

Meme Sahib is in the tub with candles and smellies + gin.

Tonights menu (after S,S,S) and application of christmas smellies.

Her :- Black pudding with a pepper sauce.
Me :- Chicken livers, sauteed with garlic, chilli, onion and finished with a splash of Madeira on a bed of salad leaves.

Mains :- Fillet, 28 days old. hers medium with the remainder of the pepper sauce (made with a good splash of brandy). Mine rare with a blue cheese sauce (Shropshire blue and Stilton) I would use blacksticks but couldn't be arsed going into town so had to buy supermarket cheese. Served with Asparagus, Mushrooms, Brocolli, Cauliflower.

Pudding will be a Key Lime cheesecake (sorry factory bought) with fresh strawberries, Cream.

Two cheeky bottles of Barrosa Valley Shiraz, and the Hennessy for her. For me the Laphroaig.

Will it work? or hopefully I will be incapable of remembering.

I just need to stay sober enough to do the cooking. Wish me luck. Off to scrub her back!!!!!

I don't have to go to all that effort, I just wait for my birthday!

Well starters near disaster. that was delicious, is there any any more sauce left. Yes in a pan on the hob.

So I had to jump in as she attempted to pour what was intended for her mains onto a sliver of black pud. Sorry I hadn't realised and accepted a short measure with her main.

Mains was an inspiration. We have a difference of opinion in what is a medium steak. She does not expect any pink meat. Meat juices are blood. So todays medium was limited to its a bit pink, but probably as she had seem my bright red rare.

So giving her 5 mins to sort her make up (But why has she not taken the makeup box into the bathroom?). Time to open a second bottle and dish out pudding.

As for birthdays. Being a twin, I think my bro is getting my present.

Well I think it is a lovely idea romantic dinner and wine, you will only get insults here because they wish they had thought of it themselves.

I hope she put out after the effort you put in.

There's no way she didn't know where the goal was. Question is, did you score?

A gallant effort like that always pays off even if there are a few bumps along the way.
It's more the effort than the result that most women appreciate.

Well done Tim.
