I'm having a bit of an issue with getting a cell from a different sheet to follow through to a summary sheet.....
I know how i should be doing this.... and it's not working....
Anyone willing to have a look if I were to e-mail it through?

If you're just transferring teh contents from one to another then a reference would look somethign like this:
='tab'!A4
where tab is the name of the tab and A4 is the cell ref (for example). If it's coming through as rubbish then check the cell formats at each end

Yup the cell contents are in that format.
Tried changing the formats on both ends to number, general, etc. etc.....
I think it might be something to do with merged cells, but I tried a parallel cell with no formulas and a merged cell and it transferred fine....
I'm not an "expert" but I do have to use it every day, if you haven't sorted it yet feel free to pm me and I can take a look
Simplest way usually is to type an = in the target cell then switch tabs and click the source cell. Excel should then format the off-tab reference correctly.
If the source is a pivot table or similar it all gets a bit messy. Doing a copy/paste value will give you a clean cell value to mess with.
Happy to take a look if you want to send over the sheet you're playing with.
a fair old time that i have used excel but one thing you might want to try is sheet protection is off as well as read only off also enable macro functions.

Nup, there is no protection....
Strange thing is, I've now managed to get it to work in 'Numbers' in exactly the same way that was playing up on Excel.... Just hope it transfers back when I go back in on monday.
Are you experiencing any errors or is it just not carrying through?

Feel free to PM me a copy with a brief description of the problem and I'll take a look.
