The Michael Dunlop debate

You either love him or loath him but what is everyone's opinions on his recent behaviour?

For those that don't follow road racing so far this season Michael has courted controversy with his bully boy overtake tactics, in particular questionable overtake on the front runners at the cookstown 100 where he cut up and hit derek mcgee in the 600 race. In the super bike race at NW200 he lost out to his brother William in what was some awesome riding on Williams part, as they jumped off the bikes Michael quietly threatened his brother which the camera picked up and he proceed to make some ridiculous statements at the start of the lightweight race. I've not seen the final days coverage yet but apparently it was typical bully boy tactics.

Was 'strange behaviour' towards William....... 'kettle' n 'black' come to mind!!!!
A certain Guy Martin used to ride very much like Michael, (Ulster......."forcing" his way past Hutch-McGuinness on last lap do or die move, same year NW200 forced McGuinness down pit lane with a 'f@&& you' move......
Thought Michael had 'grown up' this last few years, maybe not.........
Hope he doesnt take someone out big style at the IOM.......

I watched the battle between William and Michael last night, it was freaking awesome. William won a hard but fair fight. I watched the final lap three or four times after Michaels's comment to his brother to see if William was out of order. I thought that William did nothing wrong in the final lap apart from race hard and I couldn't understand Michael's reaction other than he was a sore loser.

He's always been a sore looser. If he wins he praises the people he battled with that race but if he looses he makes excuses or blaim someone.

In regards to the cookstown hit I think he should have received a penalty or something for that. Regards of the fact that he nearly took out Derek McGee, he caused everyone in that group to loose their line and practically stop in the corner whilst he powered off up the hill to win, leaving everyone else no chance of challenging the lead.

I agree that with William he was purely out ridden, there was nothing done by William that was out of order.

I always admired Michael's do or die attitude, sometimes a little bit rough, cookstown pass on McGee, but gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Following the comment to William - what an absolute tosser ! Had to rewind to listen again, then rewind and watch the last lap again. Could not believe that was his attitude. So absolutely nothing wrong, in any way, with Williams riding, was more impressed with him actually showing some b*lls to go along with his fast & smooth riding style.

My wife thinks Michael is the bee's knees, but following that comment and his recent behaviour / attitude to every other person / team around the paddock, he has fallen from grace with her.

If I was William, I would had had the fat wee b*gger by the bloody throat !!!

Hopefully this is a change in fortune for William and we see him up there at the TT. (might even be my favourite rider now)

Do and die is impressive to watch, but not safe in road racing. Much prefer William he is a really nice guy

Didn't all the TT riders complain a couple of years ago about him cutting people up?
He did moan a few times at the Southern 100 last year when Martin wiped the floor with him (Martin's 600 lap record was faster than the superbike lap record from 2011).

I think William will blow him into the weeds with the Suzuki's

Every time ive seen him talk he comes across like a petulant child. The toys seem to get thrown out of the pram as soon as things don't go his own way.

I think he believes that just because he's a Dunlop he's entitled.

I can't comment on what he's really like I've never met him.

I've just watched the superbike race, all William did was defend just like his brother!

It was just a bit of Brotherly banter in my eyes. If anybody watched the programme about him on Monday last, you would see that he has a massive admiration for William.
