Left hand side engine cover question (curvy)

The left hand side cver on a curvy engine, if i undo all the bolts will i get engine oil coming out? I just need to pop it off to have a quick look at something ( all to be reveled later)

Alternator cover? Yes, oil will come out. If you can arrange to lean it over to the right a bit it can be removed without losing oil.

Have it coincide with an oil change.

If you drop the oil into a clean container there's no reason at all not to put it back in once you're done, it's only 2 bolts and that's if you include the oil filler cap :)
