So, I need to get one of my mates insured on my car on saturday, frankly for about 40 minutes on saturday. The insurance company want £43 quid for this (citing some carp about it being the weekend and lots of people wanting to put temporary drivers on their cars for the weekend - i.e. profiteering)

My question is, is there any other way I can insure someone on my car? The car is not worth that much, so happy with TPO.

That's probably cheaper than looking at temp insurance quotes from companies that specifically do that

Yeah, just had a look. Comes out at 40, for day rate.

On elephant I used to be able to bung someone on for a week, at a days notice for £20. It was really useful and now this seems extortionate.

Who are you with?

Do you have more than you on there? Ie your partner?

My parents can swap with me for week long stints for free.

As opposed to adding me as an extra

Yeah, Better half is on there, I saw about swapping her off, but makes no difference.
I am with Esure.

40 mins, F**k it, do it ;)

Does he not have car insurance that allows him to drive other vehicles?

*I do not condone insurance fraud, driving without insurance or any other bullsh1t like that.

Londoner mate, no one has a car because there are too many cars and its not worth it... or some shizzle like that.
