View Full Version : Instant temporary throttle loss when riding?

I took a nice long ring on Saturday about 300 miles or so, absolutely fine.

Now yesterday I got a strange thing where it suddenly feels like ive let go of the throttle and instantly put it back on again. It's getting noticeably more often, it did it three times on the way to work this morning.

Is this a common symptom to the spark plugs being worn out or maybe a dodgey kill switch?
Note that it happens so fast it hasnt ever stalled it, but i dread to think what it'd do to me if I was doing 60 round a long sweeping corner.

A loose sidestand can do that, esp if it's happening going over bumps?

Ah! Maybe. It started out doing it when I was low on left handers too.. It may well just be that.
I'll look into fixing it when I finish work, at worst I'll look into bypassing it again.
Thanks for the suggestion, it's little silly things like that that I always forget about.

Please, keep the suggestions coming.

Maybe you have a spasm in your right hand?

Not screwing the battery terminal tight enough can also cause this.
