View Full Version : Bibs Swingarm Brackets
hi peoples of the org.
i have found 6 pairs of my pointy 650 swingarm brackets lurking in a corner. this is the last 6 pairs i will have for the foreseeable future so first come first served. these things are like hens teeth as people with them wont part with them.
since they are the last of their kind (maybe) they are £23.50 posted to the UK.
i might make more i might not but if i do they will be a while so i would advise you to get them now.
if you dont have a clue to what they are pop a thread up asking peoples opinions of them.
pm me for purchase details.
p.s. my apologies to those who have asked for them recently and told i have none, i cant remember who you were as i have cleared my pm's recently.
Lance
I'll take a set mate

How dare you sully this thread with your curvy related filth!
It is people like you who ride curvies and we all know where that leads, hanging around public toilets, funny hand shakes and ugly fairings! You should be ashamed! :smt044
I have been chatting to Gary at Weston Bike Night, who also owns a K3 and has put a lot of time and effort into blinging his bike up and told him to get on here and get a set for his bike. Hopefully he will.
:p
Mine are still gorgeous and shine with the smallest hint of an oily rag being shown to them. Wheel alignment is so simple, I barely have to do anything.
I'll have a pair if you've some left. PM Sent.
Won't affect the request but are they plain or scottoiler version, by the way?

Damn possibly a good point! Although hopefully having the dual injector kit won't be an issue
i'll include the oiler bracket in a bag with the screws with threadlock on them so people can attach the bracket or not.

Must close that stable door.
Now where's that horse gone...........
heheheeee, there will be no more added once those brackets are on. if you bend them then you should not have spanners :-)
i have actually taken a sledge hammer to one on a concrete floor and ok it bent but only a little, the oem ones went flat like crushing a coke can with the same treatment.
Wish i had taken mine off the SV when i chopped it in !!! B*gger.
bonus for the next owner :-)
what i found strange was i have sold well over 100 pairs on here but 2 pairs on svrider.

Mine were also waiting for me when I got home.
Jeez that is some mighty substantial metallage you've used there :smt023
Excellent stuff, thank you very much Lance.
yup they are rather good even if i say so myself. i make things that work properly and last as i personally hate buying stuff that are made to a cost rather than a purpose.

Pictures fitted anyone? :D
If anyone has a pair of brackets with the scottoiler thingummy arm bit on for sale drop me a message...
Bib, do you have an oiler bracket spare... Just the bracket? Already have the adjusters but some time last winter the bracket dissappeared and i just bodgedthe oiler end in place with zip ties!
hhmmm thats strange, for it to come off the threadlocked screws would have to come out and they cant come out as they are hard against the swingarm.
i'll have a look but you will have to pay postage.

A wheel on the bike is not for show, the wheel will get dirty when it is in use :smt019

Have got to say it a decent bit of kit.
Well done.....
just for you LP
the marking on the swingarm is from the previous OEM brackets turning due to them being ermmm well not very good would be the polite answer.

Yes Yes there is the prior circle scuff of shame in all it's glory for the world to see and ridicule.
I've added a snick of preload to account for the additional weight of the girder material specified by Bibs for manufacture. ;)

Ha beat me to the post
Here is the 4 year matured Suzuki Sakura that they replace.
hhmmm thats strange
i'll have a look but you will have to pay postage.
I can assure you it's not there anymore :p
I'll take a look later but I think the screws are still there!
No issues with paying postage, do you not want anything for the bracket itself?
Sent from my iPhone
i'ts the last of the brackets so if i make more i'm going to do an ever so slight design change to the oiler bracket. so just the postage will do.
only way it will come off the screws is if it's been booted or the bike has been slid down the road. either way i'm ever so slightly concerned if it has worked loose. so far nobody else has reported having the same issue.

Don't look quite so clean anymore though...sure they would if I could be arsed to clean them...

Been looking out for a set that was never fitted to surface for resale but nothing recently - can I float the question of the likelihood of any more being made?

Noob questions: What are they for? just goes between the nut and the swingarm? BUT WHY?! is this to protect paint work for stands or something?
The original ones are made of cheese, so when not using an air drill thingy it bends and scratches the swing arm. You can see the effect in my other post with the pics
Bib's are made from unobtanium and will survive nuclear warfare. They also look nice and shiny :)
Its a much higher quality replacement for the cheesium oem chain alignment things.

if i do decide to make more then hopefully around the end of november but dont hold your breath
Noob questions: What are they for? just goes between the nut and the swingarm? BUT WHY?! is this to protect paint work for stands or something?
the ones that Suzuki fit to the bike as standard are made of cheese and due to this they bend and spin on the swingarm when you undo the rear axle nut which then takes gouges out your swingarm. mine are made from 3mm stainless steel and are on steroids so will not bend, they are also made with tighter tolerances and dont slop about so in turn give you a better reading on the swingarm markers which in turn reduces chain wear due to your wheel being more in line (straight). they also look fantastic and can have a bracket added for a scottoiler nib which moves with the wheel and doing so always keeps the nib in the correct position. they are only for the pointy K3 onwards and do not fit the curvy.

It'd be interesting to see if he could hold his breath until November ;)
I bought some stainless steel ones for my curvy off an ebay seller, but its basically a rectangular plate with a hole in it, but better than the OEM ones

Bibio is going to be busy me thinks!
the problem is i cant just make 10-20 i have to make a min of 50 pairs as thats the min quantity the profiler will let me order and even then they shaft me up the backside for prices so i realistically have to take 100 pairs. the rest i do myself such as forming and fettling and thats why i can do them at such a good price.
i was sort of hoping with the last batch that the members over on svrider would show more interest but as per good old USA if it's not more horses its not worth buying so there was very very little interest, strange thing is they will spend $30 on a TRE mod that does nothing... go figure.
Need to come up with a kickstarter (the crowd funding site that is) project that could fund the purchase of the equipment Bibio. Seems to me with all the right gear small batch bike solutions could be profitable? But then I think you may have tried that already, is your site still going?

Zim May be on to something there mate. I am sure plenty of members here and then some will donate ahead of time with the promise of a product down the line. Could be a fun and profitable venture you never know :p

Kickstarter seems the way to go "These will cost you XYZ, so once i have ABC amount paid for, i'll make them and ship"
i did do a group buy to begin with as its a hobby (due to my circumstances). i seen a want/need for a better product and i had the means to do it for my fellow members of the org just like the vacuum extensions and the gizmo which were also group buys which eventually gave me enough spare cash to invest in stock. its my fault that things went a bit pear shaped due to spending the investment money on other things as the return was slow.
if people want and with the agreement of Admin i can put another group buy thread up but i fear that the numbers would not reach the target required as i have sold hundreds of them already. yes there is an alarming rate of new members joining the org who are a potential client but is there enough interested for it to be worth my time. i make pennies on my products as it's for the good of the org members and not my wallet but i still need to cover my costs.
as i have said November is the telling time.
Lance
Fair one lance, we all appreciate the hard work and effort that goes in to the top quality bits you do.
