Easiest electrical fix and LED headlights?

Hi Guys,

I have recently bought a 2001 Suzuki Gsf600 bandit (with those daft oo <--- twin headlights) Anyway around the front end their is exposed wire connectors and cracked rubber casings/covers - picture attatched - I'm assuming they are not made to withstand torrential rain and as i use the bike as a commutter it will get wet! what would be the best way to seal all this up, wrap it all in black tape or have it all done properly in new casings? or another option??

Question 2, LED headlights - I have seen these on ebay for around £60 and i'm wondering if anyone has them on their bike and how effective they are? and if they are any good how difficult are they likely to be to install?

two ideas - 1: pack them with ACF50 grease. Have dowen that on my trail bike electrics and that has been *underwater* several times with no electrical issues.
2: self amalgamating tape rather than insulation tape. I use it on outdoor electrical installations and it works well.

The headlight looks crap. 3x3 watt LED isn't going to cut any mustard on a vehicle. Thats just 3 bright torches really. It does distance itself from saying its legal if you notice by saying its for a project bike.

Can you email them and ask for some more specs? Like the Lumen output which will give you an idea of what its actual performance will be?

Ok so for something brighter than your standard bulb, what would you suggest? is it possible to put a halogen bulb in (are they the bright white light ones?)???

And the cables have turned out to be for my heated grips.. still going to cover them with the tape you suggested :)

I would get some good quality halogen bulbs (osram nightbreakers, etc) and make sure the wiring is decent to a normal headlight.

HIDs are alright but always scattery and don't seem to throw as much as you'd like.

Normal halogens just work.

And get rid of the daft streetfighter wannabe lamps, stock headlights must be cheap enough surely

I've managed to get two 120% brighter than normal bulbs from halfords and they're actually pretty good, not cheap though £34 for two... Still going to look into a standard headlight when i manage to find one.

The self amalgamating tape has done the trick as well, looks pretty tidy as well... good recommendation
