Hello everyone at sv650.org!

Luis here, or Gumbo. I live in a city that spends 4 months a year under snow, so I haven't had a bike since I moved here 2 years ago. Soon, in the next two months, I will be moving to London and looking forward to riding again. I've decided the iconic SV650 is going to be my ride there. I've heard people around this site like them a bit :p

I started riding a scooter when I turned 16. Switched to a cage when I was 19, but missed the two wheels experience and a few years later I got a Honda CBR125. Gained some confidence in my bike handling and afterwards upgraded to a Kawasaki ZXR400. Crazy fun pocket rocket. Now I want a balanced bike that is fun in the mountain roads, good for commuting, and nice in the occasional long road trip with my partner in crime. In other words, a V-Twin 650.

Hello!

Nothing but hills listed there :(

At least some twisty hills, please?

lol I'm sorry.

Most Brits think the weather is terrible and anything over 50 miles is far, far away. Coming from Canada, I suspect your perspective will be different on both fronts.

Wales is practically on your doorstep. You'll love it I'm sure. :D

Hahahahaa no worries. I am originally from Spain. The highest point in my native island is at 1,949 meters. But being an island the amount of roads is very limited.

I have to visit Wales for sure. Will ask recommended routes here when I do! Excited about riding there :D

Here in Canada people come visit you from 5 hour drives away, like it's no big deal. Insane. Today we have some friends visiting us from Toronto for the weekend, 6 hour drive each way and it is considered to be a "city close by". Last weekend we had a friend visit from Quebec City (in a 90's Honda CBX), 3~4 hours. Came to dinner, party and went back the next morning.

You are lucky you skipped the horrid 90's. Pouches and muscles everywhere. My favorite run of Swamp Thing is from the 80's, written by Alan Moore. Also Sandman (Neil Gaiman) but that is from 1989, so you might have missed it.

If you want to get back into reading comics let me know. I will suggest a few based on what you like.
