Interesting choice of speed camera van location.
But then civilian not police.
But then the police don't do themselves any favours in a follow up visit

Obviously a really dangerous straight clear road. Not sure he was making it safer by parking the revenue raising van there though.
To be honest, I'd prefer the police to be doing there job instead of operation of scamera vans, but it looks like south Wales Police has solved all the crime if they have the time to follow up somebody legally filming in public.

He's not right about much apart from the police officer not being supposed to have her foot in his house without permission.

No idea why she didn't just remove it and explain the situation calmly.

Because they hadn't prepared themselves before hand in looking up the appropriate legislation as to how a civilian is allowed to operate one of them vans.

Also the scamera van operator should also know what legal powers he has to operate the van.

I suppose you could look at it like that but very few people know chapter and verse of the legislation that applies to their job. They just know they're allowed.

That said, if I'd been the camera man I'd have said. I'm here doing what I'm doing because this is what my boss told me to do, here's the number for the office, feel free to either call them or the police.

In my line of work, I know the legislation that empowers me to do what I'm legally allowed to do, but a lot of folk don't.

You're right I'd give him my bosses number instead of hiding under my fleece.

Did he think he was Bilbo Baggins in Lord of the Rings and Mr Camera Man wouldn't be able to see him!

One thing, I'd complain about the vans actual location, it's on a narrow road, it's probably causing more of a problem than mild speeding.

I wonder how much of this goes on that we don't get to hear about? Civvies in these vans, it's not on.

I know in my case its the new roads and street works act 1994 but I couldn't give you chapter and verse of the legislation.

thats a good point and one you could possibly raise in court, ''your honer who was the officer at the scene?''

There are plenty of idiots out there, I guess every now and then three of them are going to get together. There have been civies in the camera vans for years, the law was specifically changed to allow for it. The police officer is on a sticky wicket with her foot inside the door, she either needed to justify her position which she could have done by stretching a few avenues of enquiry or get out as soon as she was asked. Better still not be there in the first place as any copper with an ounce of common sense would have seen all that coming.

I didn't know that RH, doesn't that leave it open to abuse?

Out of it all,the foot in the door is the main thing I was concerned about.
You do get some "up in your face ", Trying to provoke a reaction ,I guess that's why she did it.

The scariest part of watching that vid is what I end up watching on Youtube, jeez there's some scary stuff out there.

But yeah, the guys a nobber, but I'd be a tad peed off with a uniformed officer inviting themselves into my home as well.

Yes, and it has and still is being abused.

I am amazed at how much the Police in the UK have to put up with.

Here if you argue with Police they beat the carp out of you and take you to jail for resisting. If you want t argue, do it in court.

I don't mind a good argument, what I object to is having to apologize for winning.....

Seriously, there are always two points of view and I can appreciate a good defense, however there is an ever increasing tendency for some people to know and even admit that they are in the wrong, yet still complain about the officer who is at the end of the day only doing their job properly (and yes, I know they don't always do that, this vid being a case in point).
