Saw 1 of both of these totally independent of each other in the Derbyshire Dales yesterday, taking me instantly back to the late 70s and my 'blossoming' interest in anything 2 wheels/engine.

If you live near Swindon, there are a couple of Mark I CBXs for sale at the back of what was George Whites (in the "non-Honda" building, if you know what I mean). MCN ran an article last week about buying a CBX as an "investment".
I got passed by one coming into Buckingham a few weeks ago. Lovely bikes.

It was just the number one bike when we could ride 250s with L plates :)
Funny I ended up with a Honda CB360 as my first ever bike. Bought it as a 250 as it had 250 side plates fitted. Thought it was fast lol. I then bought a Kawasaki KL 250 :) So never did end up with an RD like all my mates :)

I had the Yamaha XJ650... Worst bike I ever had...!!!
I had an XJ400. It never ran right, was a pig to start, would cut out for no reason, the starter would stick and drain power, the gear box was rubbish, the electrics had more faults than wire.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/t1.0-9/270819_10150353907495828_434967_n.jpg
Then on the one morning I had managed to get it to start and rode it to work, it blew up on the motorway and locked the back wheel, causing me to have to clutch it and roll to the hard shoulder! When the rescue van came it would not roll on the back wheel even in neutral.
It was the worst piece of rusty Sh1-t I have ever owned.
After the engine went pop, we found a low mileage for the age 550 lump to drop into place and it started and ran, but there was always a horrible flat spot at about half way round the rev counter, then it would suddenly surge and cause the bike to leap into the back of what ever vehicle it was behind! I could live with this until the one day all of the magic smoke came out out from under the tank, when we lifted the tank we found that the loom was on fire. :laughat:
A replacement loom has since been fitted and it is still a pile of rusty carp that I hate. As far as I am concerned, that bike is fit only for dropping in the deepest trench in the ocean.
I do like a nice CBX and have seen some cracking examples in the odd custom frame. I seem to recall that the most pretty was the Moto Martin CBX 1000 race bike.

Nostalgia, it ain't what it used to be...
I must be younger because I get all doe eyed about things like Aprilia RS250s and original R6's. I wouldn't want to own the latter but my god I'd love an RS250.. Corner speed please...

Mine cost about £1500. Wasn't that long ago either. Well... Tony Blair was a nobody, thongs were called G strings and the Berlin wall was still normal but it wasn't really that long ago.

Stop with the bike Porn....
Your making my trousers twitch and my ebay fingers click..... !!!
Enough
the first motorcycle to truly steal my heart. it sat under a canvas cover for years around the corner from me when i was a lad and i used to lift the cover to peek at it. if i had been 5 years older it would have been mine for free. it was a sad sad day in my heart when one day it was no longer there.
