OMO.
As per title, due to trapped/pinched nerve in my neck, been unable to ride the SV for 4 weeks :(
Bike is in a garage, rode to the petrol station a couple of weeks ago and brimmed the tank and pumped up the tires (only 2 miles but in agony after !).

How long until I have to think about taking lay up measures with the bike ?
I'd like to think (hope/pray!) that physio will get me back on the road in another 4 weeks or less.

Other than a clean, chain lube and ACF50 frenzy, any further advice or will the SV survive 8 weeks off the road ?
Bike is as per signature.

Thanks in advance for help

Cheers

If I were you, I'd stick the battery on an optimiser. Or if you don't have one, at least charge it now to save it from dying. If you leave a battery to go completely flat they turn into a big paperweight.

pretty sure it will survive 8 weeks off road. Had the sv in the garage for 3 months with no problems. Not even an optimate and started first time. Hope the neck gets sorted out

I left mine for 9 weeks while I went off on a long holiday. When I got back is started OK but there was a petrol leak so I shut it down until my mechanic friend Sean could look at it. No problem with the battery. Sean couldn't replicate the fuel leak so I have been riding it; until 2 days ago. It started OK and I made 3 stops en-route. When I tried to start it after the third stop, nothing. The battery had given up the ghost. Fortunately, Sean was a telephone call away and rescued me. The battery had gone from working fine to completely dead in 5 minutes.

You will be fine. Left mine 6 months with no prep, battery just needed charging and ran perfect.

Mine has recently been left stood for 5 years due to circumstances out of my control and I have a whole world of issues to get it back on the road......

8 Weeks is nothing mate.
