I use a Suresignal box to get a mobile signal in my house due to where I live. Since 26th September there has been no service and the support forum is full of people reporting the same issue. Vodafone 'support' are not saying anything and directing folks to a generic set of troubleshooting guides which are useless.

If you work for Vodafone can you tell me if there is a major outage with the Suresignal network?

PM me if you want / need to be anonymous.

I've got a Suresignal in my flat and it's been working fine for 18 months with no service interruptions. There's also one in my workplace as it's in the middle of nowhere, which WAS working fine until two weeks ago when it suddenly exploded.

And by exploded I mean got very hot, made a horrible burned plastic smell and for some reason all the lights went off. But I don't think that was the network :)

Ta Chris, there are all sorts of rumours on the support forum about who it affects and who it don't. This is the problem, Vodafone is not telling users if there is a problem or not but many, many people are reporting an issue.

I am hoping a VF person on here might see this and give me the truth! :smt064

could it be a possibility that your broadband provider has updated your router and now the suresignal cant 'talk' to the router.

have you tried switching the suresignal off then switch the router off, switch the suresignal back on first then switch the router on.

another cause might be your routers firewall has been updated as well so is blocking traffic to and fro the suresignal.

Hay Bib's you sound just like VF 'techsupport'! :joker:

Nothing has changed at my end, literally hundreds of people on the support forum complaining their Suresignal has stopped working at the same time (Friday night).

But FWIW I have checked all my router settings and all is hunky-dory, the problem appears to be that the device cannot connect to the VF sure signal server, TRACERT times out on the next hop after entering the VF network gateway server.

I do computers for a living, much of that is support work and a lot of that is network connectivity issues. I know where the problem lies and it is not with the hundreds of different folks all with the same problem.

EDIT: Also re-booted and hard RESET suresignal before contacting support......

This thread is a little moot now, VF have finally admitted there is a problem and are working on it. 4 days with no service so far....

"We’re aware of an issue with some Sure Signals disconnecting and not being able to reconnect.
Our engineers are working on this and we’ll update this thread as soon as we know more."

If you've got WiFi coverage at home but your suresignal's broken then consider setting yourself up a SIP client (many out there including Skype, Bria etc) then setting up your CFNA (call forward on no answer) to that SIP number. That way you can still take and make calls. You won't get SMS and you may be charged for calls but may get your number reachable while your sure signal's broken. By setting up as CFNA then you get calls delivered to your mobile while you have coverage and only risk the extra cost then coverage is not there.
