I'm never very keen on these things. In general they take a rather too lose for my liking interpretation of the USB standard. Fine if you can plug it into an old charger though.

I would end up putting my finger in the spinning part or even the tip of my tongue.

It's a good job the fans at work have those guards or I'd be missing a digit or two.

Maybe as the IT bods if it's okay first in case they claim you are a fire risk etc.
If they say yes then push your luck & ask them if you can have one of these too.
