I'm meant to be going to a halloween fancy dress party and thought I might go as Noodle from Gorillaz (see my Avatar). The clothing won't be too difficult to get together, but it will mean dyeing my hair bluish purple.

However I'm a bit worried that it won't revert back to its natural colour afterwards. Now I know some would say blue would be an improvement on my red hair - it isn't ginger - IT ISN'T! And while I'd be fine with it I'm not so sure that the stuffy old MCC at Lord's would be that impressed if I turn up on 3rd November still looking like a member of a cartoon rock band.

So have any of you used temporary hair dyes and how easy is it to get out?

If your that worried why not just hire a wig too?

Use a temporary dye for the night and then use Scott Cornwall colour remover that will take your hair back to its original colour.
Don't use a colour stripper though as that will remove all pigment.

use food coloring and be careful not to get it wet.

And what exactly is the problem with being Ginger....?

I always find wigs a bit hot and scratchy. And I think the mask might pull it off.

Spray makeup works just fine and washes out well, used it many times when larping, usually white on black hair.

Now that would make the old members in the Lords long room sit up and take notice !

I seem to recall taking my hair the other way once for a fancy dress party and sprayed it ging..., I mean red. The rest of the Vyvyan from The Young Ones costume (yes, I'm old) did not work that well but the hair colour washed straight out next morning. At least the proportion that was not all over my pillow case did.

Pop into any fancy dress shop or online and grab a can of flare spray, worked ok for general colour for 20+ years of LRP.
